While there are only a small number of companies currently manufacturing fingerprinting ink pads, it is important to note that some types of ink pads may not be approved for certain applications. Fingerprinting Ink Pad is most often associated with government and law enforcement agencies, but is also utilized for banking and check cashing, real estate, and background checks in organizations such as casinos and corporate entities. For many of these applications, the fingerprinting ink pad must bear a qualification stating FBI approval.
There are also two types of Fingerprinting Ink Pad that may be used: those that utilize ink, and inkless fingerprinting ink pads, which have been growing steadily more popular. Advances in technology have enabled inkless fingerprinting to produce reliable, long-lasting fingerprints with little mess of too much ink, or incomplete prints because of too little ink. Fingerprints taken using and inkless fingerprinting ink pad also dry quickly and are not prone to smudging. Of course, one more advantage is that there is no mess of ink to clean up afterwards as wall.
